What are we about as Grace Bible Church? What are our core values and goals?
We value, as of first importance, the Gospel- that Jesus died for sinners. Jesus died in our place, to take our sin debt upon Himself, He was buried, then rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures. Jesus taught that whomever would place their faith in Him would have eternal life. This is the good news of the Gospel!
For those of us who have entered into that permanent relationship with God through faith in Jesus, we believe that our daily walk now, as His followers, should ever increasingly be characterized by these four core values:
GATHER. We believe, as part of following Jesus, we are called to gather together, in person, being actively, intimately involved in a local church body. (Acts 2:42-47; Heb 10:24-25)
GROW. We believe that we are also called to grow, both in the grace and knowledge of Jesus, being in the Word of God regularly, even daily! and allowing His Word to transform our lives, our thinking, our passions, and priorities. (2 Pet 3:18)
GIVE. We believe as we grow spiritually, a natural outflow of that will be to give. Financially, of our time, our talents, our abilities, our resources. We give because God gave. Our God is a giving and gracious God, and as His children, He expects us to reflect His image. in the same way that Jesus is the radiance of the glory of God, the express image of the Father, Jesus led a giving lifestyle, and expects the same from His followers. (John 3:16; 2 Cor. 8 & 9)
GO. We believe that another natural outflow of growing in the Lord is missions. We see the 'Great Commission' of Matthew 29:18-20 as applicable to us today; that we are called to go and make disciples of all nations, whether that be next door, in our own communities, or in other foreign nations. We are called to go, and to support other who go. (Mat. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16)
